Step into my cozy kitchen where I believe home is not just a place—it's a feeling. It's that warm hug when you walk through the door, the sound of laughter echoing in the room, and the comforting smell of a home-cooked meal filling the air. It's where dinner isn't just about feeding our bodies but nourishing our souls.
Here at It Takes A Plate, every dish tells a story and every meal makes a difference. Here you're more than just a customer—you're part of my extended family and without family, this mission wouldn't be possible.
It Takes A Plate is not only about food—it's about community. It's about coming together around the table to share good food, good deeds, and the stories that bring us together and make us feel good.
Growing up with a mom who enforced a "No Phones at the Dinner Table" policy, an aunt who hosted an annual "Feed The Homeless" event for Thanksgiving, and a large family who got together for Sunday dinner every week with good music, great food, and even better conversation over a hand of Spades or Bid Whist, I learned the importance of connection and compassion from an early age. These values form the heart and soul of It Takes A Plate, and I strive to recreate that sense of warmth and camaraderie in every dish that is served.
Growing up in a large family means I was taught to cook everything in large portions. Now as an adult who still has not learned to cook in smaller portions, I noticed how much of my food was going to waste every week. I thought to myself that there has to be a better way to do this and that's how the idea of It Takes A Plate was born. My mission is simple: for every meal you enjoy, I donate a meal to someone in need, reinforcing the belief that it truly takes a village to make a difference.
Come join me in the kitchen and become part of my village. Explore the menu, place an order, share your favorite childhood stories and recipes with me, and let's show the world that It Takes A Plate—and a village—to spread love and joy through the simple act of sharing a meal.
Dig in to the food menu, where every dish is a tribute to the cherished flavors of home. Inspired by the heartwarming meals I enjoyed with my beloved "village" growing up, each item on the menu is crafted with love and care. Let's savor the simple pleasures of good food, good deeds and good company, one meal at a time.
To keep things exciting, each week I will be serving one of the dishes from the diverse selections inspired by the collective tastes of my childhood. Come pull up a chair and join me at the table!
These chicken enchiladas with green sauce were taught by my mom and instantly a hit. They're a favorite among family and friends—especially my best friend, who requests them all the time.
Passed down from my dad, these wings are a family staple. Breaded, fried to perfection, and tossed in a tangy buffalo sauce, they've become my specialty now that Dad's retired from making them- or so he says!
This dish is a fusion of family favorites. Combining my dad's love for spaghetti and my obsession with Alfredo, it features fettuccine Alfredo topped with a hearty marinara and meat sauce.
This tender, slow-cooked pot roast, inspired by my family and roots in Mississippi, is bursting with flavor. It earned my grandma’s seal of approval and had her calling for leftovers days later!
This classic baked tossed cooked in a creamy mushroom sauce served over white rice is a quick and easy go-to meal in my home.
A comforting casserole inspired by my host mom during my study abroad trip to Argentina, this Shepherd's Pie features a savory blend of meat and vegetables, topped with creamy mashed potatoes and cheese.
Growing up with parents who loved fishing, these deep-fried, melt-in-your-mouth fish nuggets were a regular treat. Crispy on the outside and tender inside, they're a delicious reminder of family fishing trips.
Inspired by memories of dining at Olive Garden with my grandpa, this Chicken Parmesan features a Parmesan-crusted chicken breast, breaded and fried to golden perfection, then topped with savory tomato sauce and melted cheese.
